Navy plane nearly crashed into sea after metal cable snapped and injured 8 sailors

A ‘lack of procedural compliance’ contributed to a potentially catastrophic incident.

A cable was supposed to catch and slow down the E-2C Hawkeye as it landed on the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D Eisenhower in Norfolk, Virginia.
